Codes and conventions of a magazine front cover
There are a small selection of the codes and conventions that are consistantly used on the front cover of a music magazine.
- Most music magazines will feature a band or singer as the main image
- The title of the magazine is always in the left hand corner
- The bar code is always in the bottom right hand corner
- There are usually aroung 3 feature articles on the front cover with one being the largest as it matches with the picture
- They stick to a basic amount of around three colours
- The font is usually sans serif to make it easier to understand
- Usually has a "puff" to attract the reader's attention
- Contains a free item connoting that the magazine is worth its value for money
- The age range always varies depending on the genre
- They are usually priced more expensive than other magazine genre's such as a gossip magazine.
